Teenager
Johnny came home one Saturday night - He had no idea where he’d been
Janie came round just to check his pulse – She said they didn’t do anything wrong
The bus was packed, only standing room – So Johnny and Janie held on
Greens and the blues were starting to fight – there’s trouble rolling thru the town
I remember what it’s like when parents talk, they never stop
The room is spinning round in your head
I thought I knew it all, I was just like you, yeah just like you
Now I know I knew nothing at all
The Marychain show was a blast alright – Poor Johnny didn’t see a thing
He was drunk he was loud; the bouncers came out - they said son you gotta go

Drifted Out To Sea

Drifted Out to Sea
In a room with all my friends
I try to think about tomorrow
All alone inside my mind
I try to think about today
In a bar with all the sad souls
Said they’re gonna leave tomorrow
The mirror is playing games of catch me if you can
The mirror plays its games forever
All thoughts of breaking away have drifted out to sea
Long gone over the horizon as the sun begins to shine
Feel the power from of the ocean - it pounds the rocks and beaches
This is how the world turns in a mind that melts away
All thoughts of breaking away have drifted out to sea
Long gone over the horizon as the sun begins to shine
Feel the power from the sea as it pounds the rocks and beaches
This is how the world turns in a mind that melts away

Sometimes Lightning Does Strike Twice
The storm is coming getting closer each day, it’s strength will force you out to play
You were always a dreamer, never a fallen star
You’ll feel the energy start to change, it’s time for you to up your game
Things are changing, in the darkest of ways
Sometimes lightning does strike twice – Your heart left racing, cold as ice
We can’t let this terrorist push us aside
Your nerves are shot, you’re not quite right, it’s the price we pay for our own lives
It’s an invitation to give it all up or fight
A change is coming to the USA, no matter who wins the streets that day
It’s a civil war for the modern age
Always a fighter never gonna run away
Surrounded by danger, fighting for the lives we’ve made
It’s an invitation to give it all up or fight

Let's Not Destroy the World Today
I keep a knife in my pocket, it’s always been there.
I’ve never knew why, and I never cared
The gel so sticky and thick through my dyed black hair
I have sixteen ways to tell her when I get back to my own time
The kids eventually rise up and everything changes from that point on
Let’s not destroy this beautiful world that we live in
Let’s not destroy this wonderful world we were given
Leave it blue and green just as we know it’s always been
Let’s not destroy the world today
Now I’m back as a youngster in a brand-new world
People seem odd, like they’re kinda scared
I could see the courage and hope in all of their eyes
Did you leave your dirty footprint on the World?

Killing Oppression
They took it too far, the American Dream - Not for everybody
Set up your life, acquire all that you can - You’re blindfold and naked
Just as a child knows nothing at first - We all start to listen
You can’t hide away anymore – Do something about it
We’ve been waiting too long for things to change
Hoping to see it in or lifetime
The streets came alive with a powerful voice
We move faster when we fight together – killing oppression
Digging out the racist fear from everybody
President thug saw it all on TV - He tried to disrupt it
When poison runs deep in hateful veins – you gotta cut them open
Killing Oppression

Better Tomorrow

Better Tomorrow
A beautiful soul starts to crack - There’s nothing here for him
Years of buried pain and fear - pouring out for all to see
A mind so broken by years of lies - Tries to comprehend the past
History hurts, so sharp and deep – Now we all must change forever
We all live our lives underneath the same blue sky
We’re the same, yes, we’re the same, you and I
This time we all hear you - This time we all see you
They can’t hold you down no more - Cause the whole worlds got your back
Let this Socio-psychological change seep into our very core
A beautiful heart busted open - Drips blood and tears of sorrow
Yet hope begins to flow again - Lead us to a better tomorrow
They can’t hold you down no more – can’t hold you down no more
The whole worlds got your back
