Cherry Pie and Cyanide David McEwan The city lays its head down now; the streets are dead but for the howl Of singing dogs and breaking dawn oh where have all the people gone? I love to walk alone at night, fast cars and lovers packed real tight I love to watch the little things and write about almost anything This is how you feel alive - Hot cherry pie and cyanide No more tears just laugh inside This is how you live your life – flying high fly so high Is this how you feel alive, hot cherry pie and cyanide, hot cherry pie ‘n’ cyanide The daylight casts a darker shine that nighttime swallows just in time For all the people just like me who really have no place to be The alleyways and trash cans drew a picture that’s both old and new Oh how it feels to be alive, and walk these city streets at night So hold my place in line tonight, I might be late but that’s alright The line begins and ends right here, with jokes and laughter and finally tears The city lays its head down now; the streets are dead but for the howl Of singing dogs and breaking dawn oh where have all the people gone?

Lady Darkness Written by David McEwan - 12/1/2019 There’s a small child feeling so scared all alone in a dark room She said she couldn’t sleep - couldn’t sleep well at all She calls out loud in the night to declare her surrender Her voice rides high on the darkness all around She said give me all your light cause it’s something I chew on Something I do just to pass the time away She said give me all your light and I’ll play all the games that you’re playing You gotta teach me all your rules and I’ll forever stay Lay back down you’re numb and you got no feelings Lady Darkness has her cold cold hand on your heart You’re rising up so fast, but only she can see you Crashing back down real hard, back down to the ground

I Don’t Know You David McEwan Don’t know you very well but I like you – Hey baby I don’t know you at all I don’t know where you came from - And I don’t know what you do Now I see you could be a hometown star - Maybe I should get to know you It’s gonna be a long time coming - Cause that’s just how I play I never felt the need to jump in blind - Baby until I met you Don’t know you very well but I like you - Baby I don’t know you at all I know I’m gonna get to like you – I really wanna see you some more I’d carry my head high in London - In Glasgow and Paris too Never let the city leave get me down – I always got something to do Don’t know you very well but I like you - Baby I don’t know you at all I know I’m gonna get to like you – I really wanna see you some more

Children of the Cold War David McEwan Choking on ash and poison - As our hometown disappears Nothing left to love now – and there’s nothing left round here Children born in the digital age - What were you taught to fear? Face to face you don’t want to talk - Social skills disappear We’re children of the cold war - We were taught to fear before Atomic bomb lights up the sky - So bright you cannot see it anymore Children of the cold war - What do you think you’re waiting for? You’re all grown up it’s time to go, teach the new generation everything you know Know the cost of downcast eyes - The memory of a dying man This beautiful world was always here - He couldn’t see through his own fear We’re children of the cold war - We were taught to fear before Atomic bomb lights up the sky - So bright you cannot see it anymore Children of the cold war – feels like you were here before
5.
Blind to the Madmen David McEwan Open the cages and set all the animals free Unlock the asylums and give all the madmen the keys Some say they were twisted but now they are suddenly clear In the outside world all the real madmen live here Here we are now we got something to say, taking root in this place cause we’re here to stay Blind to the madmen who offered a hand, we’re scared to take cause we don’t understand This world is the stage where we all dance in the only way we understand Violence and crime rolling out on the streets tonight Danger is dancing around with the dangerous type Slamming down shutters the cold wind piercing the night Go home to your beds now be safe where you’re1 well out of sight
6.
Emotional Rain David McEwan Here comes emotional rain Gonna wash right over me Keep me clean and keep me sane Turning darkness bright again I don’t wanna feel no pain When I’m cheating life and lying Clear as day she sang to me Wake now, we’ll set you free It’s all I ever wanted To be right here and now No future and no past Just here and now at last I think I saw you in my dream Most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen We talked all night right through till dawn And in the morning, you were gone
7.
Isolation David McEwan See the shock on their faces as they’re melting into one These people asked for sunshine but not this burning kind We knew the time was coming when everything would shut down So many fools denied it, and now we’re all going down Now you know your head’s a lonely place Come out from your isolation Find your own tribe Together fight this desolation

T.V Life 02:53
T.V. Life David McEwan I bet you never thought you had a TV life You thought nobody knew when you were getting high Hiding up in your room every day With a bottle in hand and a bag to spare A secret stash to give you peace of mind No more interest in living your life I bet you never thought you had a TV life You never knew what she was all about She’s a sky city girl just fooling around She’s got rockets fizzing around in her head And she’s planning on flying away again I bet you never thought you had a TV life In your TV life you live a different way It’s a real hard dream but you can’t let go So you’re thinking now that everybody knows You want it all I heard you say And you want it all right here today I bet you never thought you had a TV life

Party Time 01:51
Party Time David McEwan Hollow thinking eyes aborted - Never blind but always sorted Sometimes dead ‘n’ alive again - Sometimes real – but never seen Out of focus - Blurred by thought - Sometimes clearer - than thought itself Hello, it’s party time - Hello it’s party time Higher than a mystic’s plain - Only to crash inside again Lower than desperate death - To rise up now and kiss its breath It’s a party time again Sleeper in your magic dream - Welcome strangers yet unseen Beware the urge to kill your foe - War is untorn - death untold Violence like a shattered mind - Steals hope and virtue every time We all carry a heavy burden – give more respect to everyone Start slowly…. One breath at a time.

Another Day 03:30
Another Day David McEwan Nothing looks the same now that the stars are all aligned I can feel the change inside my mind and soul If the light shone too bright, I could be on the other side Here I am, I must have something left to say I don’t hide my shadow - Don’t cover up my soul Open up my mind, so I can see I don’t tell no lies now – I never close the door Let it all flow in now that I’m free The weekend rolls around, feels like any other day I can push my old friend misery away No more lying, no more dying, can’t you see I’m really trying Now I walk among the living every day Another Day - Another Way – And we all stay
